FAQ

  • Q Is it better to use shock or liquid chlorine?

A Liquid chlorine leaves no residue and can be up to 80% less expensive. Also, it's the most commonly used pool sanitation method. It's available in refillable containers, and it doesn't need dissolving as it's a liquid. On the other hand, powder shock is easier to carry and lasts longer.
  • Q How often should you put chlorine in your pool?

    A
    every 3-7 days

Under normal circumstances, you should add a tablet of chlorine every 3-7 days, depending on the results of your water tests. Tablets are often the best option, as they are easier to handle and measure. Make sure to store them in a cool and dry place.

  • Q What is the difference between chlorine and shock? Do I need to use both?

A Chlorine is a sanitizer, and is necessary for maintaining a clear and healthy pool. Shock is chlorine, in a high dose, meant to shock your pool and raise the chlorine level quickly.
  • Q Is pool chlorine stronger than bleach?

A It is true that pool chlorine is stronger than bleach. For bleach and water to be the same strength as pool chlorine and water, you would have to adjust the ratio, increasing the bleach and reducing the water. But no matter which chlorine you use, make sure to test a small area before doing the job.
  • Q What is pool chlorine?

A Chlorine is a chemical element on the periodic table (part of the halogen group) that is commonly used as a sanitiser in swimming pools due thanks its ability to deactivate and destroy multiple types of bacteria and viruses.
  • Q Is pool chlorine and bleach the same thing?

A They are identical in every way, with the exception of strength. Household bleach is usually a 6% concentration (although some of the cheaper stuff is 3%), while pool chlorine can typically be found in strength between 10% and 12%. All of this is sodium hypochlorite, and works the same in sanitizing your water.
  • Q which chlorine chemical products to use for swimming pool as disinfectant?

    A
Two types of chemicals used to disinfect swimming-pool water are calcium hypochlorite and chlorinated isocyanurate. These pool chlorinating chemicals are sold in various forms under number of different trademarks.
1- Inorganic chlorine (Not Stabilized Chlorine):
    Chlorine gas (Gas)
    Sodium Hypochlorite (Liquid)
Calcium and the lithium Hypochlorite (Solid)
    2- Organic Chlorine  (Stabilized Chlorine):
    Sodium dichloisocyanurite acid (Solid)
    Trichloroisocyanurite acid (Solid)
  • Q How to dosificate the chemicals inside the pool water?

    A
1- Directly to the pool water.
Ensure the filtration equipment is switched off and the pool empty of the bathers before adding products.

  • Q Why the swimming pools need to be treated with chemicals?

    A
Swimming pools require care and maintenance to keep them in a perfect state of clearness and disinfection.
Bathers and the environment (Wind, rain,  etc) introduce into the swimming pool  water micro-organism and contaminants which could harm users and cause deterioration in the facilities. Filtering helps to eliminate a large part of dirt which has been introduced, but the growth of bacteria, algae and viruses can only be prevented by adding chemical products.
